I often say, "the brush made me do it." I don´t always have an idea in mind when I start a painting. It´s more of a journey I am about to embark on. I´m not sure of where I am going, how I will get there or what obstacles I may come across while I am on my way – that´s the challenge.

As an artist, I am inspired by many things in life – beautiful landscapes, the perfect snowfall, flowers in bloom, seeing the innocence in a child´s eye. Even the negative things that I encounter as an adult – the horror of the nightly news that I cannot seem to stop myself from watching, inspire me to create. It is my way of bringing color to a world that is sometimes so dark.

My work is a constant exploration of color. Color is such a powerful entity in itself I don´t feel it´s necessary to add anything else to it. It is my hope and desire to overpower people with my work – to have them lose themselves in what could be.
I don´t think it can always be explained in words, it´s more of the deep feelings that one has when viewing it.
